Artists and Hybrid Careers Focus Group
Dec. 3 Confederation Centre of the Arts
Posted by: Laurie McBurney on Friday, November 27, 2009
PEI’s Cultural Human Resources Sector Council is organizing focus group intended to open up a discussion on an important aspect of the working lives of artists and creators: hybrid careers and the way artists combine various types of work to piece together a living while maintaining their arts practices. The complex process of layering together a variety of jobs has long been recognized as part and parcel of a career in the arts. The CHRSC intends to delve into collective intelligence of Island artists on this subject in order to help artists make decisions about their career paths.
All members of the arts community, particularly practicing artists who also work at other jobs, will be welcome to join an in-depth discussion to launch this significant project.
The sessions will be conducted in English however both consultants, Megan Williams and Kelly Hill work in French as well.
Please let us know if you plan to attend and which session, morning or evening. There is limited space in both sessions so please confirm by Dec. 1.
Time 1: 9 – 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 3
